Functioning in the Chaos

Please stay alert and informed

I know folks who say they are not watching the news. They complain that they can’t take any more bad news. This behavior is not wise.

There is rapid change afoot. Even the best and brightest may have to struggle to keep up.

We cannot take our government services for granted.

We cannot count on the care and feeding of the very poor.

We will not know if our food is safe if we are depending on the corporations to inform us.

We cannot depend on our government to invest in important research.

The safety nets are being hacked and torn apart.

It is too soon, but AI will be expected to decide who is working or not working in the federal government.

Despite these shifts and changes, there are steps to take.

  1. Know your representatives

  2. Let them know your stand on issues no matter party affiliation

  3. Keep track of expected services.

  4. Have supplies of clean water and dried and canned foods to sustain you.

  5. Duplicate and record important documents and place in safe and different locations.

  6. Put a copy of your passport on your phone and your friend's or spouse’s phone.

  7. Identify the news sources you trust.

  8. Honor and nurture the mail carriers, sanitation men, and all government workers who cross your path. They are under siege.

Note: This is my recommended list. Please comment and add any suggestions for safety, security, and ways to stay calm in the comment section.
